CWR The Inaugural Canada Cup of Wrestling
Toronto
Center of Gravity
Attendance: Aprox 85-100
Ring Announcer: Gentleman Geoff
Referees: Chris Murray & Jimmi Hellbent
1. Rip Impact vs. `The Campbell River Crippler` Eddie Osbourne w/Jessy Jones
Some great action to kick off the event by both compeditors. Osbourne worked Rip`s left arm throughout the match up in preparation for his deadly Fujiwara Armbar, and did some serious damage to the High Risk Hero. Impact over came the injury, however and managed to roll up Osbourne for the three count.
Winner - Rip Impact via Pinfall
2. Ruffy Silverstein vs. LuFisto
This match was very physical from start to finish. Lots of hard hitting action from both. LuFisto came through as the winner after a huge Mafia Kick after Ruffy went head first into the turnbuckle after removing the padding which ultimately backfired.
Winner - LuFisto via Pinfall
3. `Canadian Crazy Horse`Michael Elgin vs. Josh Alexander
This match was easily a match of the night candidate. These two compeditors have squared off many times in Ontario, but this was the first time that they have met in a CWR ring. The action was high paced and hard hitting. After numerous high impact manuveurs from both wrestlers, Michael Elgin was finally able to lock in his patented Double Underhook Piledriver to put Alexander away for the three count.
Winner - Michael Elgin via Pinfall
4. Round 2 - Kobra Kai vs Rip Impact
It appeared as though Rip`s arm was seriously injured by Eddie Osbourne in the opening round of the tournament, but that didn`t keep Rip Impact from making his way to the ring for the second round. The injury proved to be too much in the end as Kobra Kai, who had a first round bye, worked the allready injured arm. The injury to Impact and the fresh Kobra Kai seemed to be too much for the High Risk Hero as he was quickly defeated with a Cross Arm Breaker after a chair shot on the allready injured arm behind the referees back by Kobra Kai.
Winner - Kobra Kai via Submission
5. `Canadian Crazy Horse Michael Elgin vs. LuFisto
This was another match of the night candidate. The match started with both compeditors shaking hands to show respect for one another. This match was full of some awesome high impact striking and some simply incredible Saito and German suplexes from both wrestlers. After a see-saw battle with tons of strong style action, The Canadian Crazy Horse proved to be too much for the LuFisto, after he hit the double underhook piledriver for the win. After the match Elgin called LuFisto back into the ring and praised the Super Hardcore Anime for her effort. They both embraced as a sign of respect.
Winner - Michael Elgin via Pinfall
6. Non-Tournament Match Six Way Elimination Scramble
Sebastian Suave w/Jessy Jones vs. The Black Serpent vs. Ethan Page vs. Josh Taylor vs. Ali Atish vs. Xtremo
A great high paced, action packed match. All 6 compeditors were hungry to pick up the win, as it would easily propel them in the CWR rankings. The match saw some great high flying action which went to the floor and got the crowd on their feet many times. Xtremo finally came through after picking up the final pinfall on Sebastian Suave with the 450 splash.
Winner - Xtremo via pinfall
Order of Elimination
1. Ali Atish by Xtremo via pinfall
2. Ethan Page by The Black Serpent via pinfall
3. The Black Serpent by Sebastian Suave after a low blow
4. Josh Taylor by Xtremo via pinfall
5. Sebastian Suave by Xtremo via pinfall after the Black Serpent came back out and stopped Suave from using a foreign object on Xtremo
After the match Sebastian Suave was furious and called out CWR President Frank Greco and demanded that he give Suave a chance to unmask the Black Serpent on July 13th. Suave was not given a match to unmask the Black Serpent, but he was granted an opportunity. On July 13th Suave will face off against suitable competition and if he wins then he will get his stipulation that if he can defeat the Black Serpent, than the Black Serpent must unmask. However Frank added that the Black Serpent will also be facing suitable competition on July 13th, and if he can win, then when Suave and The Black Serpent face off...Suave`s Hair will be on the line!!!
7. Canada Cup of Wrestling Finals - CWR World Heavyweight Championship Match
Kobra Kai vs Michael Elgin
Each of the compeditors had different paths to the finals of the Canada Cup of Wrestling tournament. Elgin had two hard hitting matches which rendered the Canadian Crazy Horse beat up and tired. Kai however had a first round bye, and had a major advantage against an injured Rip Impact. However, the advantage proved to mean very little, as Elgin immediately took it to Kai as soon as the bell rang. The action quickly spilled to the floor and into the crowd. Elgin put his body on the line landing a huge suicide dive on Kai from the ring to the outside! Elgin came through vicorious but not after Kai had kicked out of Elgin`s double underhook piledriver. Although he kicked out it seemed the damaged had been done as Elgin immediately slapped on the Canadian Crazylock and Kai was forced to tap or risk serious neck injury.
Winner - and 2008 Canada Cup of Wrestling winner and YOUR first ever CWR World Heavyweight Champion, The Canadian Crazy Horse Michael Elgin!
Pictures will be up soon!
